Fletcher - who has been named the Premier League's Player of the Month for September following his impressive start at Sunderland - has settled his differences with Scotland manager Craig Levein and is part of the squad preparing to face Wales and Belgium in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The 25-year-old ending his 18-month international exile is a direct threat to Miller's position in the Scotland attack, but the Vancouver Whitecaps striker insists he is happy to have Fletcher back with Scotland. "Steven coming back into the squad affects me, of course it does," Miller told Scottish Sun. "It affects me in the sense there is now a young player - who plays at a high level, scoring goals regularly - who is part of our squad. It's competition, simple as that.

"But I'm absolutely thrilled the situation has been sorted, we all are. I said before the last qualifiers, the situation had to be resolved. As a group, we will gladly have him play."
