Barcelona full-back Dani Alves has revealed he was tempted by a move to big-spending PSG during the summer and refused to rule out a move to the French capital in the future.

Alves' future at the Camp Nou appeared up in the air ahead of the 2012-13 season and the Brazil international told French radio station RMC that PSG had been in touch with his representatives in recent months.

"They were in contact in the summer after all the media talk which happened last summer," Alves said. "PSG is one of the big clubs and I am leaving the door open."

Alves, 29, was left out of the Barcelona team by then coach Pep Guardiola towards the end of last season, leading to reports in Spain that he could be sold. However, upon taking over, new boss Tito Vilanova made it clear that Alves was a big part of his plans for the future.

The Brazil international said that he was now happy at the Catalan club, though he suggested he might play again back in his home country before hanging up his boots.

"I will try and stay as long as possible at Barcelona, but I would like to end my career at Bahia in Brazil, where I began," he said. "This would be a way to recognise and thank the club who gave me a chance to become a professional footballer.""

Alves also spoke about the influence of team-mate Lionel Messi on the Barca side, choosing a motoring metaphor.

"The team is a Ferrari and Messi is the button you press to engage the turbo," he said.
