Rennes manager Frederic Antonetti is confident midfielder Yann M'Vila will recapture his form for the Ligue 1 club.

A string of impressive displays in the 2010-11 season saw M'Vila regularly linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Tottenham both said to be keen.

However, the France international's form has dipped over the last 12 months, and he was dropped to the bench for Rennes' 2-2 draw with Toulouse at the weekend following a frustrating start to the season.

But M'Vila, who has reportedly struggled with off-the-field issues, recently stated his determination to return to his best, and his manager has now echoed those sentiments.

"It is with a heavy heart that we put Yann M'Vila on the bench," Antonetti said at a press conference. "It's a part of my job to give him a new faith.

"Yann is one of our best players and should be back at his best. He will prove in the future that he is still a player of very high level."
