Bothroyd, 30, moved to Loftus Road on a free transfer last summer during Neil Warnock's time in charge of the club, but he has fallen down the pecking order following the multitude of signings made during Mark Hughes' reign.

He now moves to Wednesday, newly promoted to the Championship, and will link up with manager Dave Jones, whom he played under during his time at Cardiff.

Bothroyd, who scored twice in 24 appearances for QPR last season, won a solitary cap for England in a friendly against France in November 2010.
