Remy, 25, has been a long-term target for Tottenham and after the sale of Luka Modric to Real Madrid there is money in the bank for a new striker, while the France international has admitted talks are ongoing.

"I read newspapers every day but for now, I'm here," Remy said after Marseille's Europa League group stage qualification on Thursday night.

"It is under discussion. But there are no deeper relations between the two clubs, there are no concrete things that have come out of the discussions. I am here. Tomorrow (Friday), the English transfer window will stop. We'll see."

Yet despite the interest Remy is keen to stay at the Velodrome and complete a third season at the club.

"As I said last season, I want to make a good third season here in Marseille, which surprised many people. I'm still here, I am better prepared physically and mentally."
