Manager Roberto Di Matteo has left Florent Malouda and Yossi Benayoun out of his travelling party for the UEFA Super Cup on Friday as Chelsea look to sell the out-of-favour pair.

The midfielders have both been informed that they do not feature in Di Matteo's plans and the Blues are keen to offload the duo on deadline day.

But while Benayoun has already stated his desire to leave Stamford Bridge, Malouda is keen to stay and fight for his place in the team.

An ESPN source said: "Malouda has made it clear he doesn't want to leave but he is available for transfer along with a few others. If the club can sign a new forward such as Andre Schurrle, then Daniel Sturridge will also be loaned out - most likely to Liverpool."

Israel international Benayoun has been linked with former club West Ham and Greek giants Olympiakos.
