Robinho, 28, joins fellow Brazilian Alexandre Pato, who has a muscle injury, on the sidelines at the San Siro, giving manager Massimiliano Allegri a selection headache.
The club released a statement saying that Robinho has suffered a first degree strain to his right thigh during the Rossoneri's game with Sampdoria on Sunday, with the former Manchester City record signing expected to be out for three to four weeks.
After selling Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, Milan are down to the bare bones up front, meaning they are now trying to rush through a move for Roma forward Bojan Krkic before their next game.
