Cesena have agreed the release of Romanian forward Adrian Mutu ahead of a likely move to France with Ligue 1 side Ajaccio.

Mutu, 33, had already agreed terms with the French side, as confirmed by Ajaccio president Alain Orsini last week, but was left to finalise an agreement to end his Cesena contract.
The Serie B side, though, have agreed to the player's release, with the club needing to remove the striker from the wage bill following their relegation to the second tier.
A statement on the Serie B club's official website read: "Cesena can confirm that Adrian Mutu's contract, which tied him to the Bianconera for two more years, has been terminated by mutual consent."
