Transfer Blog: On the Move
Dawson, 28, was left out of the Tottenham squad for their Premier League opener with Newcastle on Saturday and the club are now ready to let him leave White Hart Lane.
A move to QPR now appears to be nearing completion and Dawson will undergo a medical examination at Loftus Road, with the centre-back having missed the second-half of the 2011-12 season through injury.
The former Nottingham Forest defender has found himself outside of new Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas' plans, with Jan Vertonghen and the returning Steven Caulker strengthening the club's defensive options.
Dawson now looks set to form one half of a potential duo of central-defensive signings, with Marseille's versatile Cameroonian Stephane Mbia also reportedly close to completing a loan move to the club. That deal would see suspended central midfielder Joey Barton move the other way to the south of France.
