Besiktas have signed midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee.

Ozyakup, 19, made two appearances for Arsenal after his arrival from Dutch side AZ in 2008, but was unable to establish himself in the first-team squad.

A statement on the club's official website read: "Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Oguzhan for his contribution to the club and wish him well for his future career."

Ozyakup, who was born in Zaandam, represented Netherlands at youth level but has now committed his international future to Turkey.
