Brendan Rodgers expects Liverpool to complete the £15 million signing of Joe Allen on Friday.
Allen, 22, was in the directors box at Anfield as Liverpool defeated FC Gomel 3-0 to advance to the Europa League play-off round.
And Rodgers expects to be reunited with Swansea midfielder Allen, whom he managed at the Liberty Stadium and who is set to undergo a medical on Merseyside.
He said: "It's obviously imminent. If he is up here, it is a sign there has been good communication with Swansea and hopefully over the next 24 hours we can conclude it."
The Liverpool manager also reiterated his determination to keep Manchester City target Daniel Agger at Anfield.
He added: "We don't want to sell him and he is a player who is very important for me."
