Werder Bremen sporting director Klaus Allofs has confirmed the club are close to signing Chelsea winger Kevin De Bruyne on loan.

• De Bruyne enjoying Blues life
De Bruyne, 21, signed for Chelsea in January but remained at Racing Genk until the end of the season to continue his development.
The Belgium international has since joined up with his new club for their pre-season tour of America, but it had always been expected that he would spent the 2012-13 season on loan and Werder now appear close to completing a deal.
"We have had several meetings with the club and the player over the last month, and negotiations have now advanced," Allofs told Kicker. "Things are looking good, but there is no agreement in place yet.
"We hope to have the agreement sorted out next week when Chelsea return from their training camp in the USA."
