Pato, 22, managed just seven Serie A starts last season after being plagued with injuries throughout the campaign but was nonetheless heavily linked with a move to PSG in January.

While that transfer failed to materialise, PSG have recently swooped for another Milan striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, along with Rossoneri centre-back Thiago Silva.

But despite showing an interest in a move to France earlier this year, Pato will not be following his former team-mates out of the San Siro exit - with his agent Gilmar Veloz insisting the young Brazilian wants to honour his contract with Milan, which expires in 2014.

"He could have joined PSG in January, but that didn't happen in the end and it is something of the past now," Veloz was quoted as saying by Tuttomercatoweb.com. "He will remain at Milan and is happy to stay at the club.

"Alexandre has a contract until June 2014 and is still a Milan player. He still has two more years left on his deal, so there's no reason to talk about an extension just yet.

"He's very calm. He's focusing on the Olympics now and will then return to Milan where he will become a key player again."

With Ibrahimovic leaving the Rossoneri and veteran striker Filippo Inzaghi being released along with Clarence Seedorf, Alessandro Nesta and Gennaro Gattuso, Pato is expected to become the focal point of Massimiliano Allegri's attack next season.
