Narsingh, 21, was amongst the youngest players included in Netherlands' Euro 2012 squad and had been thought to be heading for Ajax this summer, but the Amsterdam side failed to agree a fee.

The winger revealed that he had spoken to compatriots Georginio Wijnaldum and Jetro Willems about the Eindhoven giants and admitted that their opinions on the club had an impact on his decision to sign the five-year deal.

"PSV are a massive club. I think I will feel at home very quickly here," Narsingh told reporters.

"I grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Of course I want to win trophies, but first I must become part of the team."

A delighted PSV manager Dick Advocaat told Voetbal International: "I think Narsingh is a good choice. With him in the squad now, we will have more options upfront.

"He is extremely talented given that he is only 21 years old. He has already made it into the national team. PSV will certainly prove to be a good step in his career in the coming years."

Narsingh's contract at Heerenveen was due to expire next summer and the club's technical director Johan Hansma insisted that the club were forced to sell.

Hansma told reporters: "Narsingh would not sign an extension with Heerenveen. We did not want to risk losing him on a free transfer next year. He would have just walked out of the door."

Having made his debut with Heerenveen in the 2008/09 season, Narsingh went on to play 62 matches, scoring 13 goals and providing many assists.
