Dos Santos, 23, joined Tottenham from Barcelona in 2008 but despite impressive displays with the Mexico national team, has struggled to make an impact at White Hart Lane.

If he is not be given first-team football under new manager Andre Villas-Boas, Dos Santos is hopeful that Spurs will choose to sell him now, rather than lose him on a free next summer when his contract expires.

"I'm either leaving the club this summer, or I'll sign for another club for free in six months time," Dos Santos told Medio Tiempo.

"I am very calm [about my future]. I have a contract with Tottenham and I don't know what will happen. I might leave the club. I'm at a good team, but I want to play. However, it's not my decision as to whether Tottenham sell me or hold on to me."

Dos Santos will join up with the Tottenham squad once more following the completion of Mexico's Olympic football campaign in mid-August.
