Fiorentina have terminated the contract of midfielder Houssine Kharja.

Kharja, 29, was contracted to Fiorentina for another season but reports have suggested he agreed a two-year deal Qatari with Al Arabi last month.

The split with the Viola frees the Morocco international to complete the transfer. A statement from Fiorentina read: "ACF Fiorentina announces that it has reached an agreement with Houssine Kharja for the early consensual resolution of his contract.''

Kharja, who joined Fiorentina from Genoa last summer, made 21 appearances for the Viola last term.
