Fulham could make a move for goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who is leaving Ewood Park after Blackburn's relegation to the Championship.
Robinson, 32, had been linked with a switch to Turkish club Besiktas, whose keeper Rustu Recber is retiring, but that possibility appears to have fallen through.
Fulham manager Martin Jol worked with Robinson, who has a year left on his Ewood Park contract, when the pair were at Tottenham and is known to admire the former England player.
The keeper moved from White Hart Lane from Ewood Park in a £3.5 million deal in 2008 and went on to make more than 150 appearances for the Lancashire club.
However, he was unable to prevent Steve Kean's team from sliding out of the Premier League last season amid crowd protests against the manager and owners Venky's.
