Turkey midfielder Mehmet Topal has returned to his homeland after swapping Valencia for Fenerbahce.
Topal, 26, moved to the Mestalla in 2010 from Galatasaray, but will now play for his former club's fierce rivals after they agreed a fee of €4.5 million with Valencia.
His two years with Los Che yielded limited first-team opportunities, though there were some moments to savour such as a spectacular long-range winner against Stoke City in last season's Europa League.
Topal will likely have more playing time in Istanbul, particularly as Fenerbahce lost midfielder Emre Belozoglu to Atletico Madrid last month.
"I'm so excited and happy," Topal said. "There are no words to describe how big Fenerbahce are. I'm proud to be a part of this club.
"I want to show my gratitude to Fenerbahce fans. They haven't shown me any animosity. I will do everything to deserve this shirt. I will fight to be accepted by the fans."
