Kanoute, 34, has signed a one and a half year deal with the Chinese Super League side, which will see the Mali international earn an annual salary of US$2 million.

Guoan, who lie third in the Chinese Super League, are the latest team to turn to Africa in search of a big-name striking option following the moves of Didier Drogba to Shanghai Shenhua and Yakubu to Guangzhou R&F.

The move had been close for several days, with Chinese media reporting Kanoute's arrival in Beijing earlier this week. On Saturday, at midday in China, Guoan finally confirmed the news.

The two-time UEFA Cup winner with Sevilla will now join up with his new side this week, before potentially making his debut against Yakubu's Guangzhou R&F side next weekend.
