Guti left Turkish club Besiktas in November but is keen to continue playing for another couple of years and has been linked with newly-promoted West Ham in the last few weeks.

The 35-year-old told AS: "In 10 or 15 days everything should be closed. I hope then to be able to announce that I'm going to continue playing for another year.

"I want to play for another two years, although things aren't as easy as they were before, I've had six months without playing...We'll see how I feel this year.

"At this stage of the film I'm not going to go for trials. If somebody wants me, they must trust in me 100%.''

Guti spent 16 years with Real Madrid winning five La Liga titles and three Champions League crowns before leaving in 2010.

His former club have been linked with David Silva and Luka Modric this summer and both players would fit in well at the Bernabeu, according to Guti.

"There would be no better signing," he said on Silva. "In his position he is among the best. He would be a very good addition to a squad which is already excessively good,'' Guti said.

Guti added of the Croatian: "He's very talented but I don't think he's at the same level as Silva. He's shown that he is very good at Tottenham and Croatia when you see flashes of the quality in his boots.''
