Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt is looking to negotiate a new contract at the club after being convinced of their long-term ambitions.

Taarabt, 23, started life in the Premier League slowly but found his form at the end of the season to play a major role in QPR's top-flight survival.

The Moroccan's current deal in West London runs only until next summer but, despite interest from elsewhere, he is keen on negotiating a new contract at Loftus Road.

"I want to stay at QPR," Taarabt told the Daily Mirror. "I have received offers from other Premier League clubs, but my deal is signed until June 2013 and I want to increase the contract. My agent has a document from the club about their long-term project, and it's very interesting to me."

The former QPR captain has played 122 times for the club, scoring 29 goals.
