Didier Drogba is being linked with a shock move to Barcelona just days after announcing he had joined Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua.
Drogba is believed to have signed an agreement with Shanghai, but reports have emerged that a clause exists in his contract that will allow him to move to Barcelona on a free transfer.
It is reported that the striker is due to arrive in Barcelona on Tuesday to discuss a possible move.
Spanish football correspondent Guillem Balague, though, doubts the move will go ahead, saying: "In Spain it is being reported that Didier Drogba is arriving tomorrow to Barcelona to sign for FC Barcelona.
"Drogba has got a clause that allows him to leave Shangai Shenhua for free if Barcelona came calling. He will meet the Spanish club tomorrow.
"Despite the meeting tomorrow, Barcelona club sources say they won't sign Drogba, wages too high."
Drogba departed Champions League winners Chelsea at the end of last season, and late last week confirmed signing a contract with Shanghai Shenhua.
On Tuesday, Drogba's representatives dismissed the speculation outright.
