France striker Giroud has been on Arsenal's radar for some time and manager Arsene Wenger claimed last week that a deal was on the brink of being completed.

With France now out of Euro 2012, Giroud can focus on his own future and he is ready to seal his move from Montpellier. It is being reported he will head to London this week for a medical before putting his name to a deal that is believed to be worth £12 million to the French side.

"I am so happy to be signing for Arsenal - it is something that represents so much for me," Giroud, who scored 21 goals for Montpellier in Ligue 1 last term, is quoted as saying in the Sun newspaper. "I've always dreamed of playing in the Premier League and Arsenal are a great club with many French players."

Montpellier president Louis Nicollin has indicated Arsenal have completed the signing of Giroud. Nicollin said: "I wish him well.''
