Denmark international midfielder Jakob Poulsen has joined Ligue 2 side AS Monaco from FC Midtjylland after a good showing at Euro 2012.
Poulsen, 28, becomes the second player to join Claudio Ranieri's side this summer, following the capture of Italian defender Andrea Raggi from Bologna.
Denmark international Poulsen joins for a fee rumoured to be in the region of £900,000, as the principality side look to regain their place amongst the French elite.
"It's a big step in my career. I am joining a big club, even though Monaco are in Ligue 2 at the moment" Poulsen told the club's official website.
"A few years ago they were one of the best clubs in Europe and I know their ambition is to get back to that level. It will take time, but it is a big challenge."
Poulsen has played 24 times for his country since his debut in 2009, scoring one goal. He enjoyed a previous spell outside of his homeland at Eredivisie side Heerenveen from 2006-08.
