Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan has confirmed that he would like to stay in Dubai with Al Ain, although no deal is yet agreed.
Gyan, 26, was the top goalscorer, notching 22 goals in 18 appearances, for the Middle East side last season as Al Ain ran to a convincing triumph in the UAE Pro League.
Although his loan term in Dubai is now complete, Gyan is hoping that the club will decide to keep him on a permanent deal.
"Al Ain have shown an interest in signing me permanently, and I am also interested in staying. I like the place and my family are also in love with the place," Gyan told the Sunderland Echo.
The Ghanaian striker joined Sunderland in 2010 from French side Rennes for a club record fee of £13 million, spending just a year on Wearside before his loan-move to Al Ain.
