Cruzeiro edge Figueirense

Wellington Paulista scored the only goal as Cruzeiro moved second in the Campeonato Brasileiro with a 1-0 win over Figueirense.

Wellington netted in the 66th minute, giving his side their third win to go along with two draws and leaving them a point behind Vasco da Gama, who have played a game less.

Botafogo also got their third win of the season as they came from behind to beat Internacional 2-1. Dagoberto opened the scoring after 31 minutes, but Andrezinho levelled just before the hour and Fellype Gabriel completed the turnaround in the 71st minute.

In the day's other game, Fluminense hammered Portuguesa 4-1. Flu got goals from Wellington Nem, Anderson, Fred and Manuel Lanzini, while Portuguesa got on the board through Ricardo Jesus, who briefly reduced the arrears to 2-1 in the 63rd minute.
