Aston Villa striker Darren Bent insists he remains upbeat despite being left out of Roy Hodgson's England squad for the forthcoming European Championship.
Bent was omitted from the Three Lions' 23-man party for the tournament in Poland and Ukraine, with injury concerns perhaps playing a part in Hodgson's decision.
Bent missed the final part of Villa's Premier League campaign due to an ankle injury, and ultimately ran out of time to convince the former West Brom boss of his fitness.
Bent admits he was disappointed to miss out, but realises he has been through tough times before and still has a lot to look forward to in his career.
"I read the Bible every day before I get up!," Bent told the Sun, when asked about how he was dealing with the omission.
"I've been through some hard times at Villa and at Spurs and missing out on tournaments with England too like this one. But I'm a believer that good things come to those who wait."
