Ian Crook has made his first key decisions as Sydney FC coach, opting not to extend the contacts of Shannon Cole, Scott Jamieson and Michael Beauchamp. The trio had waited months to learn if they had a future at the club as Sydney's search for a coach went on, but the club announced on Thursday they would be released as the Sky Blues head in "a new direction".Jamieson has already secured his future, signing with Perth Glory, while Cole and Beauchamp are now free agents and could be considered by the new western Sydney franchise."We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Shannon, Scott and Michael for their service to Sydney FC," Sydney FC football director Gary Cole said."After a number of discussions in recent days we feel Sydney FC is moving in a new direction and an injection of fresh faces with different skills is what is required to take the club forward."On behalf of everyone at Sydney FC, I'd like to wish Shannon, Michael and Scott every success in the future."With Bruno Cazarine, Karol Kisel, Jamie Coyne and Juho Makela also released from last season's senior squad, Sydney's playing group is set for a major overhaul under Crook.
