Yaya Toure is keen for a new challenge having achieved the maximum possible at Manchester City, according to his agent Dimitri Seluk.
Toure has made 31 Premier League appearances for City this term on their way to the title, while he scored the winner in the FA Cup final in his first full season with the club in 2010-11.
City's next target will be the Champions League trophy as they try to establish themselves as the dominant team in Europe.
But Toure's agent suggests the Ivory Coast midfielder, whose brother Kolo is expected to leave City this summer, may quit the club before they push towards that goal. However, given City's spending power, they are unlikely to want the player to leave any time soon.
"He has done all he can do at City and he needs new motivations," Seluk said. "Toure could sign for many big clubs like Chelsea and Bayern Munich. We would like to see Barca join the race.
"I have not spoken to Barca but they know the situation. I do not know if Real Madrid are interested but Jose Mourinho has liked him since he [Mourinho] was at Chelsea."
