Wolves boss Terry Connor has insisted captain Roger Johnson remains a key part of his plans despite his altercation with goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey at the weekend.

Johnson and Hennessey squared up to each other during Wolves' 3-2 loss against Bolton which left the club six points adrift at the foot of the Premier League.

There has been speculation that Johnson does not see eye-to-eye with his team-mates but Connor, whose side visit Stoke on Saturday, has vocalised his backing for the defender.

He said: "Roger is very much part of what we're doing. He's part of our team and has played the last two games. What happened was dealt with at half-time.

"Roger has been a positive influence in the dressing room."

Johnson was recently disciplined by Wolves after Connor revealed the centre-back was "unfit to train properly".
