De Bruyne signed for Chelsea in the January transfer window, but he will remain with Belgian side Racing Genk until the end of the current season and is then expected to continue his development elsewhere in the next campaign.

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf had reported that Eredivisie side FC Twente were eager to take the Belgium winger next season, and it appears they have now made contact.

Speaking on Extra Time, De Bruyne said he still did not know where he would end up but added: "It won't be in Belgium.

"There has already been contact between Chelsea and some foreign clubs. FC Twente have shown an interest in signing me, but I can't say too much at this stage."
