Vieirinha, 25, has joined from PAOK Salonika for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Bundesliga club.

He put pen-to-paper on the deal in Wolfsburg on Tuesday before returning to Greece, where he will bid farewell to his former club before their fixture with Levadiakos on Wednesday night.

He will then return to Germany to train with his new team-mates in preparation for the second half of the Bundesliga season.

"Vieirinha has impressed both as a provider and a finisher at PAOK and these qualities should improve our threat in front of goal,'' Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath said in a press release.

"He is a versatile forward with good dribbling qualities and he can play both centrally and out wide.''

Vieirinha joins three other new faces at Wolfsburg, following Slobodan Medojevic, Ferhan Hasani and Petr Jiracek to the 2009 Bundesliga champions.
