Montreal Impact star Ignacio Piatti frustrated over contract talks

Montreal Impact midfielder Ignacio Piatti spoke of his frustration at the state of contract talks, following the team's 3-0 victory over the Chicago Fire on Wednesday night.

Piatti scored twice in the win, but afterwards told the stadium PA announcer that, "these could be my last 10 games."

Piatti's contract runs through July 1 of 2018, and he said that the decision now lies with the Impact as to whether he stays beyond that point.

"I didn't find the solution to stay here and that's it. I do everything on the field but it's the club that decides," Piatti later told SBISoccer.com.

"I have been here for three years, after that it's not me, but I'm happy with the whole team and I want to continue this year to win the [MLS Cup] and leave well."

Piatti, 32, joined Montreal midway through the 2014 season, and has been one of the league's best players. Since the start of the 2015 season, Piatti has amassed 38 goals and 18 assists.

His combined total of goals and assists during that span is fifth highest in the league behind Toronto FC's Sebastian Giovinco, New York City FC striker David Villa, and the New York Red Bulls duo of Bradley Wright-Phillips, and Sacha Kljestan.
