Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a genius - Herrera

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has said teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic is "a genius."

Ibrahimovic has scored 26 goals and set up eight more in 41 appearances since joining United as a free agent last summer.

The 35-year-old created two of the three goals that saw United past FC Rostov and booked their place in the Europa League quarterfinals.

And Spain international Herrera told Marca: "He is a genius. He can say that he will score 30 goals and that he is the best because he can get away with it.

"He is so good that he can do that."

But he added: "Ibrahimovic can very annoying because he wants to win it all, even at football-tennis."

Herrera said he believes Paul Pogba is also having a good season despite being under the microscope as the world's most expensive player at £89.3 million.

"He loses out when being compared to that fee, just as it happens to all of us except [Barcelona's Lionel] Messi and [Real Madrid's] Cristiano [Ronaldo]," he said.

"But he has scored seven goals and has set up a few more."

Herrera has praised fellow Spain international David De Gea and said the goalkeeper, a reported target for Real Madrid, is "No. 1."

"He has a gift in terms of reflexes. He is a goalkeeper that gives you points and if he wants, he can become a legend at United," he said.
