Ander Herrera ready to return for Manchester United against QPR

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera appears set to return to action when Queens Park Rangers visit Old Trafford on Sunday.

Herrera, a summer signing from Athletic Bilbao, picked up an ankle injury in training last month and has not made an appearance since the defeat to Swansea City on the opening day of the Premier League.

However, the Spaniard, 25, has been training ahead of the meeting with QPR and suggested on his Twitter account that he would be back to fitness in time for the match.

United goalkeeper David de Gea told Cadena Cope this week that Herrera is "not 100 percent but he will be ready for the next game."

Louis van Gaal is also expected to have deadline-day signings Radamel Falcao and Daley Blind available this weekend, while Marcos Rojo is also eligible to play after finally receiving his work permit.

However, United could be without defender Phil Jones, who was substituted during England's 2-0 victory over Switzerland on Monday after appearing to suffer a hamstring injury.
