Nolito hoping for 'better times' at Man City after frustration at lack of games

Nolito has said he is frustrated by his lack of playing time at Manchester City but hopes "better times" will follow.

The Spain international last started for City in February and has been an unused substitute in six games since the start of the year. His most recent Premier League start came on Dec. 26.

"I'm playing very little in the second half of the season," the former Celta Vigo winger, who has made 14 starts in all competitions, told Radio Marca Vigo.

"These things happen. I need to continue to work and try to improve. As I always say, the best is yet to come.

"I will continue to work and fight and I have to battle and be positive. God willing, better times will come."

Nolito, who completed an €18 million move to City last summer, linking up again with his former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola, added: "I still have two years left on my contract with City.

"We will see what happens. What I desire and want is to play and be happy."

The 30-year-old said his decision to leave Celta had been tough, adding: "I was very happy in Vigo. They were the best three years of my sporting career.

"I will always consider Vigo my home, but I'm fine and calm here [at City]."
