MANCHESTER -- Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero are both in contention to play in the Manchester derby on Thursday but David Silva is a major doubt, coach Pep Guardiola has said.
Gabriel has not played since breaking a metatarsal in February, but has been training with the first-team squad for the past two weeks.
Guardiola had hoped the striker would be fit for Sunday's FA Cup final semifinal against Arsenal, but did not include him in his squad.
Aguero and Silva both limped out of the the 2-1 defeat after picking up knocks and Guardiola must wait on their fitness ahead of a derby that could go a long way to deciding who finishes in the top four.
"David Silva is a real doubt -- I don't know if he will be ready to play," he said. "Gabriel has not pain at all so is ready, but after three months out his condition is not optimal.
"Sergio is much better. Today he played a part in the training session."
United can go above City with a win at the Etihad, and Guardiola warned that they would pose a big threat even without injured striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
"Of course they have been playing the last games without him, but they have been able to play the way Jose Mourinho wants," he added.
"They win a lot of duels. Ibra is a great player but they also have lots of good players like Lingard, Young and Rashford, and they find spaces between the lines."
City have struggled at home and failed to beat any of the other top six sides at the Etihad this season.
Four of their remaining six games are on their own pitch and Guardiola said: "Our qualification for the Champions League depends on our games at home."
