Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus to be treated in Barcelona - source

Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus will travel to Barcelona for treatment on his broken foot, a source has told ESPN FC.

Gabriel is likely to be out for two to three months after fracturing a metatarsal in his right foot during Monday's 2-0 win at Bournemouth.

He will visit the clinic of Dr Ramon Cugat, to which City coach Pep Guardiola regularly sends players to aid their recovery.

City players Vincent Kompany, Kevin de Bruyne, Fabian Delph and Ilkay Gundogan have all been treated by Dr Cugat this season.

The club hope to have Gabriel back before the end of the season but he is set to miss three crucial Premier League matches against top-four rivals Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea in March and April.

Gabriel, 19, had made an impressive start to his career in England since completing a £27 million move from Palmeiras in January, starting City's last three Premier League matches and scoring three times.

But he hobbled off in the 15th minute of the victory at the Vitality Stadium after appearing to suffer a knock a couple of minutes earlier in a challenge with Bournemouth defender Simon Francis.

In a statement on their official website, City said: "He will undergo further examinations in the coming days to establish the extent of his layoff. We wish Gabriel a speedy recovery."
