Man City midfielder Leroy Sane: I am getting used to the Premier League

Manchester City midfielder Leroy Sane has said he feels he is getting to grips with the Premier League after scoring his second goal in two games.

Sane, who joined from Schalke in a £37 million summer deal, missed preseason after playing for Germany at Euro 2016 and a hamstring strain delayed his City debut until September.

His first goal came in the win over Arsenal last month, but he was then ruled out for another month with injury before coming back to score against Spurs.

"I had a repetition of a previous injury I had, my right hamstring and I needed a couple of weeks off just to get it right," he told reporters.

"But I got back in the team and that's now two goals in two games for me. It has been stop-start, but it was important to get a rest rather than rush back too quickly.

"I feel at home here in Manchester now, and things are looking bright for the future weeks and months."

Sane said he felt his side had been dealt a cruel blow as Tottenham recovered from 2-0 down to snatch a controversial 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium.

"We deserved to win the game and it was cruel we didn't get there in the end," Sane said.

"Naturally we were really disappointed. We controlled the game and played well in the first half and right the way through. It was a real disappointment."

Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus came off the bench for his City debut and put the ball in the net late on, but the offside flag was up.

Sane said: "We were willing him on to score a goal and he did. I'm not sure if he was offside or not but sadly that was the decision. He is looking a real prospect for us already."
