Lyon face possible European ban after second set of charges from UEFA

Lyon could face a European ban after being charged by UEFA for supporters' actions in their Europa League exit on Thursday.

UEFA chaged Lyon with the setting off of fireworks, throwin objects, invading the pitch and blocking stairways as Lyon crashed out in the semifinals 5-4 on aggregate to Ajax despite winning the second leg 3-1.

The French club already received a suspended ban from UEFA last month after crowd disturbances delayed the start of their game against Besiktas.

UEFA said that ban would come into efect if there are any other further incidents for the next two years, which could apply to the charges the governing body filed on Friday.

UEFA's disciplinary panel will decide Lyon's punishment at their meeting on July 20.

In addition, Ajax were charged with acts of damage, while Manchester United were also punished for kicking off late in the other semifinal on Thursday.
