Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette can succeed at a higher level - Didier Deschamps

France coach Didier Deschamps has indicated that it could be time for Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette to move to a bigger club.

Lacazette, 24, is rumoured to be attracting the interest of several teams outside of France after scoring 48 goals in Ligue 1 over the past two seasons.

Barcelona were said to be considering a move for the France international, but more recently West Ham and French champions Paris Saint-Germain were credited with a strong interest.

Lacazette could still stay at Lyon now that they have qualified for the Champions League group stages after finishing second in Ligue 1 for the second year running.

But Deschamps, who named Lacazette on his standby list for Euro 2016, has suggested that it might be a good idea for him to spread his wings.

"I don't know if he will leave," Deschamps told a news conference on Thursday. "But for two seasons he's scored a lot of goals in an environment that he knows. He's at home in Lyon.

"And before he decides, his president has to be in agreement.

"At a certain point, there are choices to make. When you move to a higher level, there's more competition. But Alex has already proven that he has all the qualities required to move up some levels."

However, it seems that Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas will not give up his star forward this summer without a fight.

Aulas took to Twitter on Thursday evening to ask TV programme L'Equipe du Soir to make clear his intentions.

"To really see if you're honest for once, say that that president has decided not to sell Al Lacazette," he wrote.
