Liverpool's Adam Lallana a month away from normal training - Klopp

Jurgen Klopp says Adam Lallana is on course in his recovery from a thigh injury.

Lallana, 29, was ruled out for upto three months after suffering the problem in early August during Liverpool's friendly with Atletico Madrid.

The midfielder, who was named in Liverpool's 25-man squad for the group stages of the Champions League, was on crutches at one stage, but Klopp has revealed he could be back running as early as next week.

The Reds boss said: "Adam made the Champions League squad because it was a moment when we had to think about these things and the medical department told me that in around about six weeks he should be back.

"That was around Aug. 31. So it should be about another four weeks before he's normal training. It looks all on the right way for him. Maybe Adam can start running this week or the beginning of next week."

Meanwhile, Nathaniel Clyne remains sidelined with a long-standing back injury, with no timescale for a return set.

Clyne has not played at all this season due to the issue and was a notable omission when Liverpool's Champions League squad was named earlier this month.

Klopp said of his right-back: "Clyney is improving a lot but, in the moment when he could start training completely normal -- I'm not sure about when it will be -- he will need time for a kind of preseason.

"That's the situation."
