Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho will wear the No. 3 shirt for the upcoming 2016-17 season -- and has offered supporters left short-changed by the switch the opportunity of a signed jersey.
The France international took the No. 17 shirt when he joined the club in 2013 from Paris Saint-Germain but has now decided to take the vacant No. 3 spot following Jose Enrique's departure from the Reds earlier in the summer.
Fans who have already purchased an official Liverpool 2016-17 shirt with Sakho and the number 17 on the back have been invited to send their shirts in to the Liverpool for the centre-back to sign.
Sakho, who was cleared of an anti-doping allegation by UEFA earlier this month, will miss the start of the Premier League season due to an Achilles injury.

After signing for Arsenal in May, Granit Xhaka changed his squad number after just four days from No. 16 to No. 29 in a reversal of the year of his birth, 1992.
