ACL: Guangzhou out for revenge against Western Sydney Wanderers

Guangzhou Evergrande head coach Fabio Cannavaro wants his players to continue their good start to the season when they come up against 2014 champions Western Sydney Wanderers at Parramatta Stadium in the AFC Champions League Group H match on Tuesday.

Cannavaro's team secured a 1-0 victory over K-League giants FC Seoul in their campaign opener and will be hoping to exact revenge on Tony Popovic's side who edged them out in the quarterfinals last year. The first leg was a 1-0 home win for the Wanderers before Guangzhou scored a 2-1 victory in the return leg, only to be knocked out by the away goals rule.

"When they see the other three Chinese teams all won in AFC Champions League this week, they should realise that every team is improving so should we," said Cannavaro following the win over FC Seoul.

"We have to work not only with 100% effort, but 200%, to keep us at where we are now."

Following in their compatriots footsteps, Beijing Guoan also managed a 1-0 away win over Brisbane Roar on Matchday one as both Chinese Super League clubs got off to a perfect start.

Beijing will be looking to record a second victory when they play hosts to South Korean giants Suwon Bluewings in Group G. In the other Group G match, Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds will face off against Brisbane Roar at Saitama Stadium.

Over in West Asia, Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal who sit top of the table in Group C will travel to Qatar to take on Al Sadd under the tutelage of new Greek coach Giorgos Donis.

Uzbekistan's Lokomotiv, who lost 3-1 to Al Hilal last week, will be eager to secure their first points of the competition when they entertain Iranian champions Foolad Khouzestan, who played out a goalless draw against Al Sadd in week one.

Group D will see Uzbekistan's Nasad make the journey for a tough away game against Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli while United Arab Emirates champions Al Ahli take on Tractorsazi Tabriz in Iran.
