Safuwan Baharudin strikes as Melbourne City beat Adelaide United

Singapore international Safuwan Baharudin scored his first A-League goal as Melbourne City came from behind to beat Adelaide United 3-1 at AAMI Park on Friday.

Safuwan, making his fourth appearance for the club, hooked the ball home after a goalmouth scramble to equalise for the home side after 52 minutes.

Three minutes later, Australia striker Josh Kennedy headed a second goal -- his first in the A-League -- to put Melbourne on their way to the three points that take them into the top six.

Substitute Iain Ramsay made sure of the win with a late goal on his 27th birthday.

Third-placed Adelaide had seemed on course for a precious away win when Sergio Cirio struck to give them a half-time lead.

But Melbourne came back strongly, with Safuwan making an important contribution after being from right to left fullback when attacker David Williams came on for defender Jack Clisby.

A late yellow card for the Singapore star did little to take the shine off his best display since beginning a three-month loan spell from Malaysia Super League club LionsXII last month.
