Real Madrid not planning to re-sign Alvaro Morata from Juventus

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti says he cannot see Alvaro Morata returning to the Spanish club next season as he starts to come of age at Juventus.

Morata, 22, left Madrid for Juve on a five-year deal in the summer, but the Spanish club included a buy-back option in the deal that lasts for the duration of the striker's contract.

That would allow Madrid to re-sign the player for 30 million euros this summer, or 35 million euros if they waited a further year, and AS.com has reported that the European champions were considering activating the clause.

However, Ancelotti says it is unlikely his club will exert that right, saying that he sees Juve as the ideal club for the Spanish forward.

"Alvaro needed to be playing regularly," Ancelotti said in La Gazzetta dello Sport. "He's a young lad and it was he who expressed his desire to go where he could find more room and play more regularly.

"We've never regretted [selling him]. His departure was well considered, also because we've got some equally interesting young players coming through here. Take Jese, for example, who has returned from a serious injury.

"We do have a buy-back option on Morata, but I believe he'll stay at Juve. He had plenty of offers, but it was him who chose Juventus."

He added: "Even if he didn't play much under me last year, he always did well when he did play. He's a modern forward who runs a lot with high rhythm and intensity. He's deadly in front of goal and also a hard worker."

Morata was on target in Juve's 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night and also set up the opening goal for Carlos Tevez.

Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri now appears to have decided that Tevez and Morata are his first-choice forwards, with Fernando Llorente spending most of his time on the bench recently.
