          Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has used a variety of tactical formations this season, and a combination of injuries and inconsistent form have led him to use different personnel in the team's midfield. Arsenal has used 23 different midfield combinations in its 26 Premier League games thus far, and the constant fluctuation has altered the identity of a team that prior to this season was known for controlling the pace of games and led the Prem in possession percentage in four of the five previous seasons.
