Lyon top of Ligue 1 again thanks to Fekir winner; Marseille draw

Lyon moved back to the top of the Ligue 1 table thanks to a 1-0 win over Nantes on Sunday.

Nabil Fekir scored the only goal of the game in the 66th minute to ensure his side leapfrogged Paris Saint-Germain and moved back into top spot after the French champions had beaten Toulouse on Saturday.

Yoan Gourcuff found Alexandre Lacazette after a great run, and the latter's cross was bundled home by Fekir, with the help of Nantes defender Olivier Veigneau after some confusion with his own goalkeeper.

Nantes remain in 13th place, seven points clear of the bottom three, and would have been beaten more heavily but for a last-minute penalty miss from Maxime Gonalons.

Marseille conceded a last-minute equaliser at St. Etienne as their Ligue 1 title hopes were hit by a third straight draw.

Mevlut Erdinc's injury-time goal earned the hosts a 2-2 draw and denied Marseille the chance to move level on points with second-placed Paris St Germain, keeping them four points behind leaders Lyon.

Montpellier boosted their hopes of breaking into the top four with a 2-0 win against Guingamp.

Morgan Sanson opened the scoring for the visitors in the second minute before Kevin Berigaud wrapped up the points early in the second half.

The win puts Montpellier on 42 points, one adrift of fourth-placed Monaco, while Guingamp remain in eighth.

Stade de Reims failed to return to winning ways as they were held to a goalless draw by bottom side Metz at Stade Auguste Delaune.

Both teams had the chance to break the deadlock but great goalkeeping from Reims' Kossi Agassa and Johann Carrasso of Metz kept those chances at bay.

Reims, who have won just one league game in their last seven, sit five points above the drop zone, while Metz are four points from safety at the bottom.
