Derby climb top of Championship with win over Sheffield Wednesday

Derby climbed top of the Championship after twice hitting back from behind to beat 10-man Sheffield Wednesday 3-2 at IPro Stadium.

Lewis McGugan struck his first goal for Wednesday but Jake Buxton headed Steve McClaren's side level.

Although Will Keane fired the Owls back in front, Buxton popped up with a second header before Darren Bent converted from the spot after visiting goalkeeper Keiren Westwood had been sent off in the 75th minute for a professional foul.

Derby have taken over at the summit from Middlesbrough, who slipped to their first defeat in 10 league matches in the lunchtime kick-off against Leeds - their first at home since the end of August - courtesy of Alex Mowatt's solitary early goal.

Brentford beat Bournemouth 3-1 at home after taking an early lead through Jonathan Douglas. Although Marc Pugh hit back for the visitors, Alex Pritchard's free-kick on the stroke of half-time put the Bees back in front and Chris Long added a late third.

Reading put back-to-back league defeats behind them to win 1-0 at Ipswich thanks to Jamie Mackie's 14th-minute goal.

Norwich gave their promotion hopes a boost and dented Watford's as Lewis Grabban's double, his first from the penalty spot, sandwiched Cameron Jerome's emphatic finish in a 3-0 win at Vicarage Road.

Wolves kept pace with the play-off chasers as two goals from Benik Afobe and efforts from Nouha Dicko, Dave Edwards and Bakary Sako completed a 5-0 rout against Rotherham at Molineux.

Nottingham Forest extended their unbeaten run to four matches under boss Dougie Freedman with a 4-1 home win at the City Ground against Bolton, who had defender Matt Mills sent off for two yellow cards.

Chris Burke struck twice while Michail Antonio and Henri Lansbury, from the penalty spot, were also target for the home side, with Bolton striker Adam Le Fondre converting a first-half penalty.

Birmingham defender Paul Caddis saw his penalty on the stroke of half-time saved at Brighton, for whom Joao Teixeira and Inigo Calderon both struck twice in a 4-3 win. Clayton Donaldson, Wes Thomas and Lee Novak, in the final minute, were on target for the Blues.

The London derby between Millwall and Fulham and Huddersfield's home game against Cardiff both ended goalless, while Blackburn were held 1-1 by bottom club Blackpool.

Jordan Rhodes' 14th-minute finish put Blackburn ahead but Seasiders loanee Grant Hall levelled before the break.
