England not winning Euro 2016 would be a failure, says Harry Redknapp

England should "give up" if they do not win Euro 2016, according to former Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp.

Redknapp believes Roy Hodgson will have sufficient talent at his disposal to claim glory at the tournament in France.

With the likes of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane scoring 23 goals in all competitions this season and Liverpool duo Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge key players for their club, Redknapp said it would be a failure for the team to not at least reach the last four.

Redknapp, who was linked with the England job in 2012, told talkSPORT: "England has got three or four young players emerging now in time for Euro 2016. Roy [Hodgson] will have a team that can really compete.

"I would be disappointed if we don't at least get to the semifinals and then I could see us having a real go at winning it.

"Sterling is a fantastic talent, Sturridge, Kane, and [Ross] Barkley who is a fantastic player in my opinion, a real talent. He is a player I would like to see push on now.

"We're full of good full-backs. Kyle Walker has got fit now. The boy Nathanial Clyne has pace at full-back and I can see Danny Rose pushing into the squad.

"There are some really talented players and Roy's squad for the Euro's is going to the best we've had for some time.

"If we don't win the Euros we ought to give up because it's the best opportunity we're going to have. It's a really good group at the moment."
